On November 11, 2025, China Petroleum Engineering Co., Ltd. (referred to as "CNPC Engineering") announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, China Petroleum Pipeline Engineering Co., Ltd., and its subsidiary in Kazakhstan, formed a consortium with CITIC Construction, successfully won the bid for the EPC project of the single corridor ethane propane trunk pipeline in Atyrau Oblast, Kazakhstan. The awarded amount reached 424 million US dollars (approximately 3.003 billion yuan), and the pre acceptance is planned to be completed within 36 months after the commencement notice is issued. As a key supporting project for a large-scale petrochemical complex in Kazakhstan, the core construction content of this project includes a 211.17-kilometer ethane pipeline and a 218.7-kilometer propane pipeline, covering the entire process of design, procurement, construction, and operation. After completion, it will transport core raw materials for the local petrochemical industry and assist in the construction of the largest polyethylene production base in Central Asia. As the leading party of the consortium, CNPC Engineering relies on its rich experience in international oil and gas storage and transportation engineering and local resources to lead the core links of the project, while CITIC Construction provides equipment procurement logistics and financing support. This bid winning will not only form a continuous support for CNPC Engineering's revenue in the next 3-4 years, but also further consolidate its position in the oil and gas engineering market in Central Asia, a key region of the "the Belt and Road", and deepen Sino foreign energy cooperation.
